Vasiliki Papapostolou aka Tarantism is a 27-year-old international experimental dance artist originally from Greece.

Vasiliki’s movement language is a hybrid of physical theatre, urban street dance styles and ballroom Latin. Her choreography blends intricate physicality and layered storytelling, examining how subtle and overt mechanisms of control shape the human experience. Her work invites audiences to reflect on the forces that shape our identities and interactions, from social norms to unconscious biases.

She holds a BA in Contemporary Dance from Trinity Laban Conservatoire in London and an MA in Education with Distinction from King’s College London. During her postgraduate studies, Vasiliki conducted two years of research into the sociological dimensions of dance education investigating how race, gender, and disability intersect within the framework of institutional dance training. This critical exploration of inclusivity in the arts added depth to her approach as both a choreographer and educator.

Her solo work PANOPTICON has received notable recognition, including 2 awards at 29MASDANZA: the Audience Award and the 3rd Jury Prize, the Audience Award at contact.energy 24 – Tanztheater Erfurt and the Philly Fringies Award (USA) for the split bill performance featuring her piece PANOPTICON and Self Help by mignolo.
